Public services at risk
A reduction in financial support will result in loses of some or all of the services below:
Ranger service Patrols of over 38km of paths and trails, maintenance, repairs, public service, support at events, providing advice on events, cleaning graffiti and other antisocial damage
Wildlife protection Monitoring, surveying, recording and reporting wildlife over a wide range of biodiversity
Responding to incidents Water pollution, animal welfare, complaints, tipping, and many others
Recreation Supporting a wide range of recreational events, providing maps and leaflets
Events Providing an exciting programme of events and walks in the Park, over 44 events last year
Planning Protecting the interests of the Regional Park through planning consultations Provision of strategic planning for the Regional Park
Litter collections Over 450 bags of litter collected last year from the towpath and river
Heritage Leading and supporting projects to restore and access heritage in the Regional Park
Education Working with local schools, information stands, shows and fairs to raise awareness on many environmental issues
